By far this restaurant is my personal best Chinese-interpretation Michelin star, no wonder they received two-star this year since the dishes are very delicate and well thought out from presentation to sensation. Fresh local ingredients are finely selected and seasoned. I love the open-kitchen where I can see the chef and team do their magics. I tried standard lunch course, the portions are more than enough. It takes around 2 hrs from start to finish, I would say the dishes were served pretty fast. Don’t miss this restaurant if you have time and opportunity to visit Kyoto. Highly recommend ;-)

What an experience visiting Velrosier!
The food is amazing and tests you with many different flavours. The steak is possibly the most delicate and tender I've had. Yes, it's expensive but I never thought I'd leave a 2 Michelin star restaurant wishing they gave us less food. Huge portions. Worth the money!

Absolutely phenomenal meal, everything was fantastic. Every small course significantly exceeded expectations. If I were to be critical, the two main courses were great, but not mind blowing. I ranked this on with Benu’s main menu and on par with Jungsik (and at 1/3 of the price)! Highly recommend and would say worth the time even for a 2 day trip to Kyoto.
